Healthy Hues for a Vibrant Life
Scientific studies have begun to tease out the reasons that fruits and vegetables, especially those with vibrant colors, provide amazing health benefits. Who hasn’t heard about the inflammation-reducing properties of deeply tinted fruits, or the virus fighting properties of cruciferous vegetables and members of the onion/garlic family?
For example, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, beets and other deeply tinted fruits and vegetable are now understood to offer an amazing boost to our health. (Of course, native societies and generations past always believed in the power of food, whether or not they were able to explain the basis for their beliefs.) Is it any surprise that huge industries have sprung up, dedicated to processing natural foods; turning acai berries, turmeric, garlic, herbs, special teas and coffees, into supplements and pills, and selling them to consumers as a means of fighting everything from heart trouble to ringing in the ears!

The most important thing, in my opinion, is to use fresh, organic, and seasonal items when possible. This meal is chock full of nutrition when these concepts are taken into consideration.
