There are a lot of “hot-button” topics these days, and none of them are more confusing than the idea of sustainability. At its core, it means providing the means to continue life, but the real focus combines living less wasteful, safer and more natural lives.
This starts with eliminating chemicals and plastic waste in our food and environment; with rethinking farming and food chain practices, with using renewable resources to power our lives, and with learning to use technology to improve the process, rather than to exacerbate it.
And all the while, society will face a growing responsibility to feed, clothe and shelter an expanding population while assuring our natural resources, native plants and animals, and even the air we breathe are protected and preserved for future generations.
